Meet Ivan Weswa

Ivan supports the Balamu project as our administrative project manager, being responsible for all administrative duties within our diverse and wide-reaching project activities. 

Hailing from Mbale District in Eastern Uganda, Ivan is currently working as a Project Administrator for the Balamu Project. Before joining our project Ivan gained experience in ICT and Project management. He further has great experience in building partnerships and collaborations, monitoring & evaluation and action learning. His major role in our team is to ensure that project administrative duties and processes are executed effectively. He ensures that the project team stays on track, tracks tasks to ensure deadlines are met, and ensures that the project stays within the budget.
“My main interest is in maintaining proper and quality services accessed by the vulnerable hypertensive and diabetic patients in the rural community of Nakaseke.”
Moreover, Ivan believes that his work can contribute to better health education and improve the care of NCDs in the Ugandan communities. With Ivan, we have a very experienced expert in management for our project activities. Among various other training and professional certificates, Ivan has obtained a professional certificate of training in Global Health Project Management from the University of Washington, Training in Implementation Research (IR) with a focus on Infectious Diseases (IDs) of Poverty by WHO-TDR and University of Ghana School of Public Health. He is passionate about looking out for the potential or possible obstacles that can prevent the successful completion of the assigned project and devising strategies to mitigate the project roadblocks to keep the activities moving.
